Business Development Manager

In Downers Grove, IL

The Business Development Manager will be an integral part of the corporate sales team and focus on revenue generation for the Technology Division. This will include expanding the business opportunities with current clients through account management and finding opportunities with new clients by networking with key partners. The Business Development Manager must have a strong working knowledge and firm understanding of the key components to properly communicate requirements to sales engineers for the following systems: structured cabling, access control, surveillance, audio/video and IT collaboration and cloud services. Through client meetings, site surveys and bid specifications, the Business Development Manager should be able to develop detailed scopes of work and be able to present proposals to clients and C-level executives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Work with existing clients by managing accounts through routine client touches to discuss new technologies, recommended upgrades and maintenance/service plans
  • Establish new client relationships and opportunities through networking with vendors, brokers and other industry professionals
  • Develop detailed scopes of work through client needs analysis meetings and oversee the proposal process
  • Present proposals and other services to C-level executives
  • Maintain activity, opportunities and sales projections in CRM software
  • Design and implement focused prospecting tools such as webinars, seminars, and email campaigns to increase sales and expand our customer base
  • Develop a detailed understanding of our products and services
  • Exhibit a consultative sales approach to determine a customer’s needs
  • Develop proposals and bids that are complete, accurate and profitable
  • Meet or exceed monthly sales revenue and profit goals
  • Create new business opportunities through networking and sales prospecting
  • Establish professional relationships with manufacturer sales and sales engineering personnel
  • Present monthly sales and opportunity forecasts to Business Unit Leader
  • Serve as a key link with the clients and maintain communication throughout a project’s lifecycle
  • Sell products and services into current account base by understanding the client’s needs
  • Develop and present business case for new complimentary products and services to Business Unit Leader
  • Attend site surveys to confirm bid requirements and communicate findings to bid estimators

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience of selling audio/video, security and IT products and services
